Box Elder County General Plan

Box Elder County asked for help to develop a vision that captures what residents imagine and hope for, and a general plan that charts a course toward the future that citizens want. Rural Community Consultants was part of a consulting team that was tasked to deliver an engaging and educational process, drawing out informed and thoughtful ideas as citizens explore their possibilities. The vision developed early in the planning process was designed to provide the organizing mechanism for the general plan, and the general plan chapters grew out of the vision principles. These were illustrated with graphics that say more than words could.

This initiative was conducted during the 2020-21 Covid pandemic, so public interaction necessarily needed to focus on online methods. The community ultimately voiced support for the plan even though it contained new ideas for the County.
