Brian Head Town General Plan

For years, Brian Head Town has actively maintained a strategic plan that establishes long-term goals and guides its operation. In recent years, they have adopted a transportation master plan, conducted a sustainable tourism and outdoor recreation plan, and experienced a major wildfire event. The Town’s goal for the general plan was to compile and synthesize these into one comprehensive, guiding document.

Brian Head partnered with Rural Community Consultants for professional planning-related services to update its general plan and to make recommendations for implementation. The scope of this project included new plan policies, mapping, ordinance suggestions, and strategic plan integration. Maintaining significant public interaction was a challenge for the initiative because the majority of landowners lived outside the area. Residents were included in the planning process with online tools, and they generally voiced support for the plan.
