Carbon County – PreDisaster Mitigation Plan

There are a number of small communities in Carbon County Utah that are located by natural resources that were the historic economic engine in the area. The location of these resources creates potential risks (particularly along the hillsides and in the floodplains). In order to mitigate this, the County partnered with Rural Community Consultants to update their PreDisaster Mitigation Plan (adopted in 2018). This initiative required a great deal of coordination with municipalities and state agencies.
