Davis County Pre-Disaster Mitigation Plan (PDM)
A Pre-Disaster Mitigation Plan (PDM) is intended to promote sound public policy and protect or reduce the vulnerability of the citizens, critical facilities, infrastructure, private property, and the natural environment within the County. Davis County developed a PDM that FEMA approved in 2016. The County has a strategic imperative to have its existing plan updated and approved before it expires in late 2021. The process to develop a PDM involves a significant amount of data analysis and coordination between numerous state agencies, every municipality in and near Davis County, and many special service districts. The final pre-disaster mitigation plan was designed to not only be in the format FEMA requires, but also in a way that the stakeholders and public can easily access after the project is completed.
