Hyde Park City – General Plan + Code Update

Housing prices in Hyde Park had skyrocketed over previous years, prompting increased demand for development of all types. The city asked Rural Community Consultants to advise land use development decisions in critical areas important to members of the public. The final product was a new general plan and major edits to the city’s land use and subdivision ordinances.

At the city’s request, a special emphasis was given in the general plan to economic development research and affordable housing solutions. The ordinance update included substantial rewrites for “plain language” and clarity, adjustments to conform with state statutes, and drafts of new ordinances to implement zoning decisions made by the city throughout the planning process.
