Moorcroft Town Master Plan

The Town of Moorcroft is a small, rural community located in the northeast part of Wyoming. Moorcroft has had a strong economic and residential base as the coal mines and oil industry are major employers in the surrounding areas.  However, with the coal mining and oil industry on a slow decline, the community forecasted these impacts and asked for help to explore other areas of economic growth. Rural Community Consultants partnered with Downtown Redevelopment Services (DRS) on this project to leverage their efforts in local economic development preparedness and extensive amount of background data to utilize for the housing and economic development chapters. This initiative to develop the Town’s first community master plan and land use regulations required careful attention to detail for public interaction that pivoted on in-person public events.
