Salina City – General Plan + Code Update

Salina City is a community at a crossroads.  For decades, their economy was focused on coal mining, trucking, and other support industries in the area.  However, the City’s location along I-70 became the focus of new commercial and industrial development that was being proposed at a significant scale. The City was also facing a strong demand to incorporate new housing while maintaining its rural character.  Salina partnered with Rural Community Consultants and Downtown Redevelopment Services to gather public perspectives, validate economic assumptions, and consolidate engineering studies in order to develop a new general plan and make significant improvements to their development code.
