San Juan County Resource Management Plan

Using the data gathered by our team for SEUALG’s work with county resource management planning, Rural Community Consultants were asked to develop an update to San Juan County’s general plan with a focus on resource management planning.

This was a significant initiative. The area was broad, the issues complex, and the opinions divided. In fact, the Bears Ears controversy took place in the middle of the San Juan project. Our team was able to overcome all of these hurdles because we maintained a focus on data and listened with integrity. Our regional office in Monticello also allowed us to draw on our local knowledge, easily coordinate information and host meetings in-person and online.
